The West Village Avian Chronicles - Chapter Seven: Yellow Flicker Beat

I have been thrilled to encounter some industrious Northern Flickers over the past few seasons. They were among the first birds to start house-hunting for the spring and worked very hard to create the perfect abode. They're loud, colorful, incredibly detailed, and very protective of their squatter's rights. Check out the Audubon Field Guide for more information on these beauties, or just enjoy the pictures!
