New Year, New Logo, and Some Great New Opportunities!

Happy 2024 to you all! This year has brought some exciting developments for AGC Nature Photography. First off, you may have noticed the new, streamlined logo!

I designed it myself! :) I was trying for something cleaner and clearer, but that still captured the nature I love. What do you think?

The next fun update - I was selected to participate in the juried competition from my last post! The Marietta Cobb Museum of Art selected "Eye in the Sky" to appear in their show. Remember that one?

This image fit really well with the overall mood of the exhibition, which is evident from the promotional postcard for the event:

The exhibition opened on January 6th to a great crowd of around 250 patrons. What a fun and fantastic opportunity for me to share my passion! I had a great time and was truly inspired by the absolutely incredible work that was presented, and beyond humbled to be included in such an impressive group of participants.

There were 63 artists in all, presenting 66 images. Only 66 out of apparently more than 400 submissions! WOW! I was so inspired, as a matter of fact, that I have already found other competitions to enter.

Which leads me to announcement three: Another exhibition! This time, for the Georgia Nature Photographers Association's annual "Stand in Ansel Adams's Footsteps" contest. I submitted two works to this contest - one for the landscape category and one for the macro category:

(Peaks outside of Zion National Park)
"Always Looking Up"
"Make a Wish"

The GNPA exhibit will run from February 10th through April 27th at the Hudgens Center for Art and Learning in Gwinnett, GA, and there will be prizes for each category! Fingers crossed!

I have a few other irons in the fire for some national "calls for entry". I know my chances to be chosen for those are probably slim, but I am really enjoying throwing my hat in the ring. I love the idea of people seeing my work, developing their own fascination and love for nature, and maybe even being inspired to create for themselves!

Thanks for joining me on my fun new adventure as we jump head-first into a brand new year. I'll keep you posted as to how it goes!
